Project 7

Hey guys, this is my newest project which involved making my own synth sounds in sytrus. I explained how those sounds were made in previous blogs, so check those out if you are curious. So, other than those synth sounds, this loop is made up of a single drum beat, a sound called STR_Harpsy_C4 (which is a sort of mandolin kind of sound that i used for the "bass") and a nature sound that starts off the song. The loop has an a b a format, and in the b section the riff is transposed up 2 to give it a little more of an ear catching sound. The only real trouble i had with making this loop was creating a drum beat that fit because i had already made the riffs up. I overcame that by using the ghost channels and putting in the bass drum and clap sound where i thought it should go. Enjoy!!

January 7, 2010

Today i made a drum beat for a section of my loop and a new synth sound. Its halfway between a saw wave and a square wave (i was looking for something a little harsher in sound but not to much). the prefilter is set to 10% in operator one, and the reverb color is set to warmest. the sound isn't quite done yet, but its on its way.

I had alittle set back today... something went wrong with my synth and i had to create a new one. Good thing i had written down what i did! other than making that synth again, i created a nice bass line to go with my first pattern and i think that i will be back on track by next class.

December 18, 2009

Today, i started my new sytrus project. The first thing i did was make a sound in sytrus that is halfway between a sine wave and a saw wave (i thought the sine wave by itself was to mellow and the saw wave was to harsh). Next, i edited the sound envelope in operator 1 so it has a gradual decline to a sustained end loop, then it has a sharp fade in sound when the note is released. After that, i added some echo and reverb to give a sort of spacey sound

Sytrus Project

Hey guys, this is my new sytrus project. It uses a sine and saw wave which i edited to my liking (changing volume envelopes here and adding delay and reverb there). I put the sine wave into the riff machine to get the main melody for the A patterns, then wrote the B pattern by myself with the saw wave. After that, i added bass, a rythm part, and drums and there my new song! Enjoy.

Decmber 14, 2009

Today, i experimented with perfecting my saw wave. I added a delay to it and changed the LFO on the volume to make a pulsating kind of sound. After i made that i came up with a riff of my own (with no help from the riff machine) and made that my B secion.
